2tablespoonssoul food seasoningor your favorite all-purpose rub
¼cupBBQ rubor your favorite rub
1-2mediumwhite onionssliced
2cupsMemphis style BBQ sauceor your BBQ favorite sauce
Instructions
Coat the pork shoulder evenly with Soul Dust and BBQ rub, making sure every side is well-seasoned.
Place the sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker, then add the seasoned pork shoulder on top. Pour the BBQ sauce over the meat and cover with the lid.
Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 8 hours, stirring once around the 4-hour mark.
When the pork is tender, use two forks to shred it and mix it with the sauce and onions. Add more BBQ sauce if you like it extra saucy.
Notes
Don’t shred the pork until you’re ready to serve. This helps it stay moist and juicy.
The onions can be left out or swapped for other vegetables, like bell peppers.
The finished pork is perfect for sandwiches, nachos, tacos, or served with your favorite sides.
