Flavorful baked beans with ground beef is a classic barbecue side dish that’s as convenient as it is delicious.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 (3-pound) can baked beans
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Creole mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Soul Food Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon BBQ seasoning (your favorite brand)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In an oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess oil and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, melt butter and sauté diced onion and bell pepper until softened, about 5-6 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from heat and reintroduce the cooked ground beef.
  5. Add canned baked beans, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, Soul Food Seasoning, BBQ seasoning, and vinegar. Stir thoroughly.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the preheated oven. Bake until beans are warmed through, approximately 25-30 minutes.
